How Much Workers’ Compensation Am I Eligible For?
While you are not required to prove fault in a workers’ compensation claim, the amount of compensation you receive will be based on the severity of your injury or injuries.
- For example, the following are levels of injuries defined under Georgia law:
- Total temporary disability (TTD) – This is the least severe injury. You can receive payments for as long as 400 weeks following the incident.
- Permanent partial disability (PPD) – When TTD benefits end, you may receive these payments if you have suffered a permanent injury/disability.
- Permanent total disability (PTD) – The most serious level of injury, PTD payments will continue for the duration of your disability.
Payments are awarded in addition to any medical benefits required for the injuries so long as you have selected a doctor from the provided list. The exact amount of workers’ comp you are eligible for will depend on the severity of your injury, the medical care required, and additional factors.
